e had high expectations for this medieval home based upon existing reviews and were not disappointed. This historical property is stunning - much time and expense was committed to the design of the interior. The two bedroom, two bath home was very functional with high quality appliances, dishes and pots, and really cool! How often do you get to stay in a mansion built in the 15th century, remodeled in the 17th century, and updated in recent times? The location is great. It is a few steps from the main square where you can shop at the farmers’ market and local stores, eat at a host of restaurants, and attend great musical performances. The “street” is extremely quiet, since it is only a street by medieval standards. Sarlat itself is a great jumping off point for the region’s highlights. It took us a little while to get the hang of finding our way to the parking area due to the one way and inaccessible medieval streets. We used Google Maps for Sarlat and for the entire area - download ahead of time. Sabine was very helpful
