This was such a fabulous setting during our tour of the Dordogne. Being right in town was amazing as we were easy walking distance to everything and the town itself is absolutely charming. We loved being able to get to all the great spots in the region on days trips - and coming home to the Villa was such a treat at the end of the day. We loved being able to sit out & relax on the terrace and having a BBQ grill was fantastic. The house is gorgeous - it has all the 'Old World' charm with the 21st Century ammenities. It is so bright and airy and very tastefully furnished. And the views out the back window to the field beside the Church were so pastoral. The town itself is perfectly charming - we walked to the bakery for our incredible selection of morning pastries, and the Sunday market has tables & tables of cheeses and breads and fruits and pates to choose from. A week was just not long enough..I think we will need to stay at least a month next time to have enough time to try everything!! Thanks so much again - we will be back for sure.
After a long drive with two small children, it was wonderful to arrive at this beautiful home. Nestled in the medieval center of St. Cyprien, the house has the character and feel of an ancient heritage building - but is inviting and comfortable at the same time. The house is fully equipped with quality appliances and wifi. With three floors, there is plenty of space for both children and parents to feel at home. Our girls loved the large play area on the top floor. Sightseeing opportunities are available all year around in the Dordogne - caves, canoeing, hiking, swimming, visiting castles, farms and vineyards - you could spend several holidays here and never do the same thing twice. EquiPerigord, an equestrian center just outside town was a particular favorite (children and adults are welcome for the day, or for one- or two-week programmes), as was the Marqueyssac park - not to be missed! St. Cyprien is a great base in the region. The town is active all year around with many good local shops to explore - and in summer has near-daily concerts, markets, fairs and more. All in all, this house is an ideal place from which to explore Dordogne and Southwestern France - we can't wait to go back again! My wife and I and our grown daughter stayed here in October, 2013 for three nights. Wish we had stayed longer. The house is situated on a small walking street a one minute walk from a street where there is plenty of free parking. St. Cyprien is a wonderful small town without too many tourists and is a good base from which to explore the Dordogne region. Although the house is old it is very up to date. Since the owner uses the house for family vacations everything is up to date -- appliances, furniture, bathrooms, bedrooms, etc. Very clean and modern. There is a large capacity laundry machine which was very handy. The house is very spacious and has a nice secluded patio area. I would highly recommend this house to any of my family and friends. Cannot say enough good about it. Also, the owner provides a tremendous amount of information on what to see in the region and information on local restaurants.
